On January 28th, 2020, Battle of the Babies launched on Kickstarter. The game all about all of the incredibly cute, epic, and ugly babies fighting against one another in a great baby war. The campaign lasted for one month, ending February 26th, 2020 with 86 backers and a total of $4,106 contributed towards the game production.
Ever wondered what babies were up to when others aren’t around? Locked in a never-ending cosmic battle of course!
Battle of the Babies is a 2-4 player deckbuilding strategy game. Each player is tasked with building up their army of babies by using baby ration cards to recruit more unique babies. Eliminate opponents by overwhelming them with your crafted army turn by turn.
I am the creator of Battle of the Babies under my new company name: Stuffed Horse Games. From Ideation to Funding, the game went through a few drastic changes. The theme of the game was imagined first and then the game mechanics where built around that thematic frame.
Production on the game technically started over 4 years ago, though I do not count much of that time because there were months at a time I did not think about it. When people ask, I usually tell them it took about 2 years to create the game and form the campaign.
Over the course of starting this project, I have learned so much more about game design and the proper steps to take. I love the knowledge this project brought me and truly love my first game. Thank you all for the support in bringing this game to life!
I would love to share my story of what I learned, how I failed, and how I succeeded from the ideation to completion of this project. Here is to the next project!
Current Updates:
The fulfilment is completed and the game is now on Amazon!
